Kathryn is very excited about the Journey God has taken her on with Music.
She loves many Genres, but she have been pulled toward Christian music over the last several years, and now is switching her gears a bit and going to her true love of Country music as well as keeping the focus with a Gospel/Christian feel when “the time feels for it”.
Kathryn Shipley has many motivations with her music with the support of her children and friends, and her inspiration is her nephew TJ Washington who left this world several years ago at the age of 12 as a result of a traffic accident.
This experience/opportunity that is with her right now is far from being some big star or making tons of money.
It’s just someone that grew up in a small town (Louisiana, MO) that loves to write and sing music and lets just see what that in turn, will blossom into.
Bongo Boy Records’ A&R Director and Producer Gar Francis presented back in December 2016, a brand new Gospel song to Kathryn Shipley.
A few months later the label made an announcement, and officially released a song titled SHINE YOUR LOVE by Kathryn Shipley and written by Gar Francis.
The single features Nashville pianist Eric Barfield and was recorded at Shock City Studios in St. Louis, MO and Martine’s Lounge in North Plainfield, NJ. This song was responsible for Kathryn winning Gospel/Country Artist of the Year at the Annual Josie Music Awards in Nashville in September of 2017.
The Josie Awards is one of the largest Indie Awards shows, in the nation and globally supporting Indie Music.
In November and December of 2016 Kathryn was elated to receive recognition for a Singer/ Songwriting contest out of LA called SingerUniverse. Each time she was named as a finalist in the top 5!! She submitted more music in 2017 and the song Shine Your Love written by Gar Francis won for best song and Kathryn won for best vocalist! The awards and Blessings keep coming as the result of prayer, patience and hard work.
Kathryn recently completed a collaboration with Singer/Songwriter Chuck Thomas out of Nashville and their song that Chuck wrote God Gave Me All I need is in rotation on many outlets.
