Diane Berry

Diane is in the top five for Female Vocalist of the Year for Arkansas Country Music Awards. The Red Carpet and Awards Show will be held in Little Rock June 4th and the winners will be announced at that time. She has been chosen to be an entertainer that night.

Born in Amarillo, Texas to a musical family, she learned about country music from the very beginning.

Her parents, Virgil and Billie Holman, played and sang at shows all over the Panhandle of Texas. When she was only three years old, her Daddy got her up on stage and put her in front of the microphone and asked her to sing the nice folks a song.

“I sang “Rubber Dolly” and got lots of applause….so, I sang it again! My Daddy laughed and said that a “Ham” was born!” says Dianne

“Our family is made up of my parents, my sister (Gale), my brother (Joe) and me. Growing up in Arkansas, every Saturday afternoon we had a live radio show on the local country radio station “KCAB” and we traveled to perform all over Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.”

“After a show in 1998 in Claude, Texas a Channel – 4 reporters from Amarillo were interviewing my Daddy and asked how many there were in the family. My Daddy smiled and simply answered, “I have a five-piece family”. Everyone thought that was truly rich.” says Diane

Diane moved to Nashville in 1982 and worked in the C.F. Martin Bluegrass show at Opryland Park.

She first worked the Grand Ole Opry with Roy Acuff in the fall of 1982.

“I was Mr. Acuff’s guest artist. From that point in my life, I have been very fortunate to have worked with many stars in the music field.” says Diane
